Farming activities at Kwa
Manzi...
We started with a small
breeding flock of Pedi sheep in December 2004. These sheep are fat-tailed and
indigenous to South Africa. Hardy and relatively maintenance-free
they lamb easily about twice a year. Pedi sheep make great lawnmowers on small plots
and we have animals for sale from time to time as pets or
breeding stock. |

And there we have a proud mum
and newborn!
Early in the morning
of 06 February 2005. The 1st pedi lamb was born at Kwa Manzi.
Still shaky on its legs when the picture was taken the newest
member of the flock was healthy and suckling well. We now (2008
April) have 400 Pedis at Thaba Manzi
Ranch and are one of the largest breeders in the
country. See

We stable horses
for clients at the farm but guests who wish to ride are catered for
at Thaba Manzi
Ranch, a 2000 acre ranch which we own nearby. Enquire about
rates at time of booking. |
|
We have a clutch
of Chinese Geese which produce goslings each spring. |

The female peacocks
we introduced have now paired off with the males and the boys are
growing out their tail feathers in anticipation of your admiration
and that of the hens. |
